Best New York car shipping companies

New York is one of the most important states for auto transport industry. There won’t be a problem to find and hire a car shipping company in NY, but there is one thing you have to keep in mind – there are two types of companies (carriers and brokers).

Carriers have to be registered with FMCSA and carry their liability and cargo insurance. They are the ones who will pickup and delivery your vehicle to the destination point and they own the truck and trailer.

Brokers are a middleman company, they prepare the paperwork, work with direct clients and their requests and they assign the carrier company to the specific job. Broker companies do not carry cargo insurance and they don’t own the trucks (aka – they will not take responsibility for the damage).

New York car shipping FAQ

What is door-to-door service?

Door-to-door service is the way Transport Services operates. Door-to-door means that a truck will come to your house (or another pre-designated location) and pick up your vehicle…right in front of you! Both you and the driver will inspect the vehicle, marking any dings or dents that it may have, plus the mileage and anything else that may be relevant to shipping it. This inspection is to make sure that both you and the driver know what the car looks like when it is loaded onto the truck and for reference if any new damages occur.

Door-to-door service is different than terminal-to-terminal service. With terminal-to-terminal service, you drop your car off at a pre-designated terminal that the auto shipping company owns or rents and you wait for them to pick it up. However, terminal-to-terminal service is not recommended unless you absolutely need it because you never know when your car will be picked up. It can takes weeks for a trucking company to get around to actually picking up your vehicle from a terminal and finally delivering it to their terminal in destination city, where it then waits for you to come get it.

What kind of insurance is there?

At no extra cost our worry free Full Primary Insurance Coverage, covers up to $50,000 Dollars, and there is Always a Zero Deductible. For enclosed transports we have a $1,000,000 insurance policy, also with a Zero Deductable. This means no headaches or money out of pocket if any potential damage were to occur to your vehicle while being transported.

How many drivers and trucks will there be?

To secure a safe and timely delivery of your vehicle, we specialize in using a single truck auto transport. This method of transportation is designed to keep your vehicle on the same truck throughout the entire shipment eliminating any potential damage to your vehicle. Your vehicle will NOT be switched, unloaded, or moved into any terminals or other facilities while in transit. This service allows your vehicle to be safely shipped and prevents unnecessary damage being done to the interior or exterior of your vehicle while being transported.
